Character Information
*Character Name: Skyfire
*Character Canon: Transformers G1 cartoon
*Age: At least nine million years old, though he spent most of that time frozen. In terms of his species, he’s an adult, and not very old.
*Race: Cybertronian
*Timeline/Pull Point: After Day of the Machines (episode 2x9); he’s been with the Autobots for some time now, and his last adventure involved helping Hound and Spike save an oil platform.

*History: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Jetfire_(G1)#The_Transformers_cartoon

*Personality: Skyfire’s most defining traits are his kindness and compassion. He is gentle by nature, very open and trusting. But it goes deeper tan just being polite. He cares sincerely about the well-being of others, and he will go out of his way to help or even protect those who need it – even if he’s only just met them. All of this makes it very easy for him to make friends. It also tends to get him into trouble: sometimes because he’s too naïve, and sometimes because he puts the safety of others before his own.

However, his gentle nature doesn’t make him a pushover nor easy to manipulate. Skyfire has a strong moral center and always tries to do what’s right, putting his conscience before what’s convenient to him or even his own personal relationships. It’s the reason why he questioned the Decepticons, for example, and decided he did not belong there. This is a mech who stood up to Megatron himself and, perhaps more importantly, to Starscream, who was his friend and only connection to his past.

This is also part of the reason why he fights alongside the Autobots: because he sees Earth and humans as something to protect. Given a choice, he would much rather be exploring and learning, as he did before the war.

He’s very resilient and even optimistic, in spite of his bad luck. He doesn’t angst much and seems to take things with a certain sense of humor. We don’t see him dwelling on the past he lost; instead, he focuses on making new friends as he adapts to his new life.

*Powers/Abilities: One of the largest Cybertronians in his world, Skyfire transforms into a shuttle with a built-in weapons system. He is space-capable, extremely fast, and big enough to carry several other Cybertronians.

In his robot mode, he is not nearly as fast or agile, mostly due to his size – but this is balanced out by his strength. His main weapon in this form is a double-barreled gun.

As a scientist, Skyfire has both theorical knowledge from his studies and practical experience from the time spent exploring off-planet. His main fields of study are the following:
- Astrobiology: As an off-planet explorer, Skyfire studies unfamiliar organisms in their natural environment. This means that, instead of being an expert in a specific field, he has a broad knowledge of a variety of natural sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Ecology. He's trained to apply this knowledge in new situations, and also describe and classify new life forms. (It is, in short, the "outer space" version of what used to be called Natural History; the way Skyfire's line of work is described in canon makes it sound like the equivalent of 19th century naturalist explorers.)
- Astronomy/Astrophysics:It's not his main filed but he studied, at the very least, the necessary for space travel. It also ties in with the above, since it affects the general environment of the planets he explores.
- Basic repairs: Although he is not a medic, the fact the he was able to travel off-planet with a single partner makes it reasonable to assume that he's capable of handling the equivalent of first aid.

*Inventory: Only his gun and a few datapads.

*Starting Polarity: Liege Maximo

Writing Samples

*First Person Sample:

[The feed clicks on to show Skyfire looking directly at the camera, his expression slightly concerned. He is in some kind of workshop; behind him, a strange machine that seems to be half-built is emitting constant beeps.]

I’m sorry to bother you all with this, but – has anyone seen Wheeljack? He’s painted mostly in white, wears a mouth plate. The flanges in his helm flash when he speaks.

We’ve been working on a project together, and last I heard he was going to find some of the necessary materials, but he’s… taking longer than expected. If anyone sees him, please-

[The beeps from the machine suddenly get much louder. Skyfire turns around mid-sentence, as if forgetting what he was talking about, and tweaks a few of the visible cables and connections. Soon enough, the noises return to their previous volume.

As for Skyfire himself, he turns to look at the camera once more.]

‘Jack, if you see this transmission, you might want to come back soon. It looks like we’re about to get results any moment now.

[And with that, the feed ends, just as Skyfire moves to continue with his work.]

*Third Person Sample:

He didn’t know this place. That wasn’t very unusual, in and of itself. The problem was that Skyfire wasn’t quite sure of how he’d arrived there. Something was wrong with his navigation systems… some kind of enemy interference, he suspected. All of a sudden, things had become so confusing that he was lucky that he hadn’t been forced to crashland.

But those unreliable readings, combined with his speed, had thrown him way off course. The empty plain where he had landed was unfamiliar to him. He looked around, but there were no defining landmarks, either: just rocks and more rocks. Well. That was nice. His systems kept giving him error messages instead of coordinates, and he couldn’t even give a useful description of the place if he managed to contact the Autobot base.

On the bright side, if he could call it that… at least he was unharmed. And he’d been in worse situations before. This wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve. He could fly without his navigation system; he’d done it before. It was an emergency measure, yes, and he was going to have to improvise, but moving in any direction would give him an idea of his location eventually. He could still return to base. It would just take him longer.

And then realization hit him. That was the point all along, wasn’t it? This wasn’t much more than an inconvenience to him. Which meant that the only practical point of messing with his readings would be to delay him… and, in turn, to stop the rest of the Autobots from moving fast enough. It looked like the Decepticons had plans abroad again.

He was going to have to contact base after all.
